God Provides Strength

You ever have a day where you just felt weak or tired or like maybe you are lacking the strength you needed to get through your day? A day where your alarm clock didn’t go off when you expected it to, so you begin the day in a hurry?

And then you realize the kids weren’t dressed in time, and they’re not ready to go when it was time to take them to school, so you’re rushing out the door after grabbing whatever small piece of breakfast you can grab and rushing to get them to school and rushing to get to work. And then you hit the traffic during rush hour and you just know that it’s  going to make you late…Again. So by the time you get to work you already feel drained and defeated. All of that and your day hasn’t even started yet. So if you’re like me, you begin to wonder…do I have the strength to even make it through the rest of the day? Especially since my day hasn’t even really begun and I already feel exhausted.

You see, our days can be challenging and if we’re honest they make us wonder if we have the strength to make it, the strength to endure. But fortunately, for us there is a source of strength that can sustain us when we’re at even our lowest of times, when we feel tired or when we just need help.

In Isaiah 40:29 the Bible says that God gives strength to the weary and that God increases the power of the weak. This means that in our times of weakness or fatigue, or even when it feels like the world is just beating us up a little bit, we have the ability to turn to God. And His word makes it clear that He can give us strength and bring power to our lives even when we feel weak.

As we read God’s word, it strengthens us even in the very midst of the crazy stuff in our lives and it can encourage us to endure, just a little stronger for just a little longer by relying on His strength instead of ours.

So I want to encourage you today if you feel a little tired, to get into God’s word and allow Him to give you the help you need and to strengthen you for the days ahead.
